Sean Connors, Founder of Insomniac Computer Services, boasts more than 20 years of computing technology and customer service experience. His career began in 1996 at Vandenberg Air Force Base as a network installer and maintainer of an existing coaxial network. He was quickly promoted to a computer technician and server administrator in just 2 short years.

In 1999, Sean was hired by Marian Medical Center as the Y2K remediation expert with oversight of over 500 workstations and close to 40 servers. In under 2 years, he was promoted to Systems Engineer, fielding server outages on a routine basis. It was working in this position that made Sean realize there HAD to be a better way.

He spent his time digging into each system problem TO find the root cause rather than simply resolving the symptoms of the issue.

This method initially resulted in a slower resolution of major issues; however, over time he noticed a significant reduction in the frequency of issues. The change in perspective paid off. During his tenure, unscheduled outages went from a frequency of 3 - 4 times per week to less than once a month.

In search of a new challenge, Sean returned to Vandenberg AFB in support of a contract for the Department of Defense Medical Healthcare Systems. While there, he had the opportunity to support projects implementing storage area network (SAN) solutions, blade servers, backup tape libraries, and a secure virtual private network (VPN) between the facility and the DoD clinical data repository.

All of his combined experience has taught him a great deal about working on computer systems in a number of professional environments. Using this knowledge, Insomniac Computer Services was born with the intent to change the way small businesses manage their computing environment.
